MIND GAMES: Art Alive is an immersive art and sensory experience.

Its design is the work of Kristina Forrest, an Australian artist and surface pattern designer. Her work is inspired by both the urban and natural environment and aims to both challenge and inspire positivity.

The experience is currently on show in Sydney and claims to 'challenge how people see, think and feel within a playful setting that forces one to think beyond the norm'.

Having visited the experience, I couldn't agree more. It was a lot of fun and challenging in a number of ways. The museum is set out over two floors offering a huge variety of experiences which challenge one's understanding of what they actually see, hear, feel and smell - a feast for the senses. It comprises of more than 60 interactive installations, set up within portals, featuring the work of over 15 international and local artists.

Be sure to take along your mobile phone as many of the exhibits come to life through the lens of your mobile. You will also want to take a few 'happy snaps' along the way, there are ample opportunities.

Each exhibit is accompanied with an explanation of what to do, what it means, the name of the artist via QR codes and some really interesting and at times quirky explanations as to the history behind the phenomenon just experienced.

If unsure as to what to do, there are staff on hand to help.

The visit will take around 60 - 90 minutes and is suitable for anyone 3+. Yes, it has something to offer for the whole family, especially for those interested in solving puzzles and willing to take safe risks.

I attended late in the afternoon so the number of people going through was manageable. I would imagine that it would be a lot busier on the weekend which would perhaps make it a little more difficult to allow you to spend longer on the exhibits, as is sometimes necessary.

The setting is colourful and full of life. Stand outs are the 'Movie Magic Room', the 'Levitation Station' and the 'Rotating Tunnel' near the end of your exploration.

MIND GAMES: Art Alive opened on 22 November and is situated on Levels 1 & 2, 154-160 Broadway Street, Chippendale with free parking available at Broadway Shopping Centre. it is affordable and accessible for everyone.  The museum is open between the hours of 10am - 8pm and really should not be missed.
