Producers, venues and artists provide complimentary or reduced-price tickets to ON THE HOUSE to help promote their productions.
While you gain access to a wide range of great experiences, you’re also helping to support the arts.
In return, we simply ask that you share your experience with family, friends and neighbours — encouraging them not to miss the shows you’ve seen and enjoyed.
Word of mouth is one of the most powerful and cost-effective forms of promotion, and it plays an important role in helping these productions reach a wider paying audience.
It is free to join. Once you sign up, you are automatically enrolled as a Bronze Member.
Some shows are available exclusively to Silver Members. You can upgrade to Silver Membership for $25, which is valid for 24 hours. After this period, your membership automatically reverts to Bronze.
Bronze Membership allows you to book many of the tickets offered by suppliers to ON THE HOUSE members.
Bronze Members incur a small ON THE HOUSE admin fee (typically between $5 – $20) per ticket when taking up promotional tickets on our site.
Where a Bronze Member cancels and rebooks promotional tickets, the admin fee will apply to each ticket in the new booking.
Bronze Members can also book cut-price tickets, which may incur an ON THE HOUSE fee per ticket, depending on the event.
You automatically become a Bronze Member when you join the service. Bronze Membership is free.
Silver Membership is a 24-hour membership that entitles members to exclusive ON THE HOUSE offers.
There is a $25 fee to upgrade to Silver. After the 24-hour period, members return to Bronze Membership.
Silver Members do not pay an ON THE HOUSE admin fee on their reservation during the 24-hour period.
Silver Members are restricted to one reservation within the 24-hour period. However, there are exceptions where members may be permitted to book more than one event within that period.
If you upgrade to Silver and miss the opportunity to reserve the show you wanted, we will refund your Silver upgrade fee and return you to Bronze Membership.
An ON THE HOUSE Admin Fee is a small administration fee (typically between $5–$20, as displayed at checkout) charged per ticket. It applies to complimentary promotional tickets provided to ON THE HOUSE by suppliers.
We do not on-sell these tickets. The Admin Fee helps cover our operating and administration costs, allowing us to continue offering an accessible service to members. Occasionally, we offer tickets with no Admin Fee.
An ON THE HOUSE Discounted Ticket Price applies to tickets sold by suppliers through our platform. These are typically reduced-price tickets, with pricing set by the supplier and varying by event.
Proceeds from discounted ticket sales are paid to the supplier after the event.
As a Bronze Member, you can start saving immediately. Membership is free to join.
For example, you might book a double pass to a show that retails at $35 per ticket. Instead of paying full price, you would only pay the ON THE HOUSE Admin Fee (as displayed at checkout).
That means you could attend the show for a fraction of the full ticket price — resulting in significant savings.
At times, limits are placed on the number of active bookings you can hold. This helps ensure fair access and gives all members an opportunity to reserve tickets to popular events.
These restrictions are typically lifted once tickets to high-demand or exclusive events have been taken up.
You can view your active bookings at any time via your membership page.

Yes. If you are unable to attend an event, you must cancel your reservation as soon as possible.
Event Organisers rely on ON THE HOUSE members to attend, and cancelling your tickets allows other members the opportunity to use them.
Failure to cancel your reservation may result in restrictions or suspension of your membership.
If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the event start time, a $10 No Show Fee may apply.
Yes. Providing feedback after attending an event is a mandatory part of the ON THE HOUSE experience.
Event Organisers value honest feedback from members, and your input helps support and promote their work.
You must submit a rating for any event you have attended before making further reservations.
Feedback can be as simple as a star rating, although many members also choose to share written comments about their experience.
You are not required to use your real name. Each member is assigned a nickname, and you may also choose an avatar to display alongside your feedback.
Members are generally expected to reserve tickets for events in the state or region specified in their profile.
This helps ensure fair access to tickets for members in each location and supports local audiences.
However, in some circumstances, bookings for events outside your selected location may be permitted (for example, if you are travelling), provided the tickets are for your own use and comply with these Terms.
Events remain visible on our site until the event has taken place.
As part of our commitment to supporting and promoting the arts, we continue to showcase events even after all tickets allocated to ON THE HOUSE members have been taken up.
If tickets are no longer available through ON THE HOUSE, you may still be able to purchase tickets directly from the venue box office or through the official ticketing agency.
We only share your information where required to facilitate your ticket reservation.
This may include providing relevant details to Event Organisers or venues for the purpose of securing your tickets and managing event attendance.
We handle all personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable laws.
