Stepping into The Palms at Crown for Jackson Aces' Beyond Possible... LIVE feels like entering the glossy world of heist film franchise, Now You See Me. Velvet seats, low lighting, and playing cards wrapped in rubber bands scattered across tables hint at the interactive magic to come.

The show opens with Jackson’s signature trick: a dancing deck of cards. His style is a slick blend of sleight-of-hand wizardry, psychological illusion, cheeky humour, and philosophical asides — a magician with not just tricks, but thoughts.

“You don’t need to believe in magic to experience it,” he says. “But you do need to be open to being wrong.”

Later, he invites us to consider: “What’s impossible to you? Some people do it every day; so long as they’re always looking for the magic answer. I named the show Beyond Possible very specifically. If we break down the word ‘beyond,’ it’s made up of ‘be’, be what you are right now… and ‘yond,’ an old word meaning the future or sometime soon. So maybe, depending on how you look at it… ‘beyond possible’ suggests it will be possible in the future, so long as you keep looking for the magic answer.”

Philosophy aside, the illusions are jaw-dropping. During a surreal arm contortion, Jackson invites the audience to twist their hands into physically impossible positions, yet only he can finish the final “thumbs up.” Cue collective gasps and awkward attempts to copy him during the next trick.

“I wouldn’t have imagined it when I was 12 years old,” he shares. “I thought becoming a magician would make me really cool.” He recounts a childhood spent mastering tricks as a refuge from bullying. Now, celebrating 20 years as a performer, Jackson tours internationally, plays to sold-out houses, and boasts over six million TikTok followers.

One unforgettable moment sees two women from the audience, definitely not plants; we were sitting beside them! Chosen for a “mind connection” experiment, Celine and Jessica, are blindfolded. Jackson touches only one woman, yet both claim to feel it. Cue whispers of “What just happened?” as the illusion spirals into another layer: a supposedly spontaneous series of events revealing just how many steps ahead he’s playing.

Then there’s the number trick — using random numbers from the audience and our own phones, we generate a sequence that inexplicably matches the exact date and time (to the minute) of intermission: 2672025823 (26/7/2025 at 8:23pm). Another collective “No way!” ripples across the room.

The rubik's cube segment is as thoughtful as it is technically dazzling. Jackson uses it as a metaphor for life’s unsolvable problems and then jumbles it up. Not solved. He then reveals a cube in a sealed jar that perfectly matches the scrambled one just solved. Wait, what? Suddenly he solves both, without looking.

This mix of visual spectacle and introspective storytelling defines the show. During the segment dubbed, 'the love ritual', a frenzy of torn, switched, and folded cards involves the entire audience. The near-matches are hilarious. “That doesn’t mean anything,” he teases the unmatched. “It just means… you’ll be lonely.”

Then there’s Bella, his co-star, in one of the most spectacular illusions of the night. She’s chopped into fiery, smoking segments and reassembles before our eyes, a nod to classic stage magic, elevated with cinematic flair and cheeky confidence. 'Where did she go?' 'Hang on, she's right there sitting with the audience!'

The show’s emotional core comes when Jackson honours his late grandfather with a classic bottle-and-glass illusion. Bottles vanish, reappear, multiply, and switch places beneath two seemingly empty tubes; all while Jackson uses a simple handkerchief that once belonged to him. With his mother watching from the audience, it’s a beautiful, quiet moment in a night of noise and wonder.

“Magic isn’t about me,” he concludes. “It’s about every single one of you. What’s beyond possible for you?”
