Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew

Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew

THE TAMING OF THE SHREW

By William Shakespeare
Directed by Olivia Jane Parker
8 - 17 May, Little Theatre

In this sharp reimagining, Padua becomes Paradise, a powerhouse record label and the battlefield is the charts.
Bianca is the next global pop export, polished and playlist-ready - but her outspoken sister Kate, a rock chick who won’t soften her edges, stands in the way.
Enter Petruchio: part entrepreneur, part opportunist, determined to “woo” and rebrand the label’s most “untameable” artist.

Fast, funny, and theatrical, with Shakespeare’s original language colliding against today’s music industry, this Shrew asks: is Kate being tamed, or is she playing the game better than them all? In an industry built on image, who really gets the final cut?

A bit hard to follow at times and it could have been a bit shorter in length, some excellent performances though

Love this show, it was a quirky twist on the usual

So impressed with the skill of the actors and actresses. Their timing, articulation, presence and ability to remember very lengthy dialogue was engaging.
They were creative with a small stage and minimal props too.
Thoroughly enjoyed the performance.

The Actors were great and did a really good job at delivering the lines with fast-pace intensity. The Little Theatre is such a cute, intimate venue.
