Katy Kirby is a singer/songwriter from small-town Texas, known for her warm, articulate vocals, perceptive lyrics, and knack for attractive melodies. She inhabited a playful adult-alternative style on her debut album, Cool Dry Place, in 2021. It included touches like Omnichord, Space Echo, and trumpet in addition to a full backing band. The follow-up, 2024's Blue Raspberry, was a more earnest and warmly orchestral outing resulting from Kirby challenging herself to write love songs.
