This play has been performed all over Victoria and for The Australian Army. The Army psychologist called it a revolution in suicide prevention. .
Leave any preconceptions at the door and instead expect to be profoundly moved as Marooned might just be one of Australia’s most important plays. Not because it questions why so many of us take our own lives too soon, but in the way, through a mix of raw powerful drama, clever dialogue and humour, it uses the secrets of four ordinary people to explore this baffling question, and yet manages, night after night, to lift your spirits and leave audiences not only hungry to live but celebrating the resilient beauty of humanity.
In 2022 the Institute of Psychoanalysis used a filmed reading of Marooned for an event, Psychoanalysis and Mental Health/Marooned in a collaboration with National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre and the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and Ten Windsor Walk. They now have funding to use this film as a teaching tool for their medical students.
