BAD BOY

BAD BOY

From the stellar team behind acclaimed productions of RUNT, SHIT, and Caravan – writer Patricia Cornelius, director Susie Dee, and performer Nicci Wilks – comes BAD BOY, a searing new work that boldly tackles themes of misogyny and domestic violence.

It’s time to take on this most difficult of subjects using the power of the metaphorical, language that is both grungy and poetic, and the visceral, often surprisingly comedic physical strengths of performer Nicci Wilks.

Written by Cornelius and directed by Dee, Wilks will inhabit the character of BAD BOY, a female actor openly playing a male role, with the gender inversion heightening this sharp examination into male behaviour.

BAD BOY is presented in association with Melbourne Fringe as part of the Festival’s Pulse Program.

Fabulously acting

Colin

A clever, powerful and compelling performance dealing with a disturbing subject. Nicci Wilks deserved the standing ovation she received.

Demon

An innovative presentation of the path of domestic violence. The Cornelius / Dee collaboration provides another theatrical highlight to our stages. Nicci Wilks delivers a simply magnificent performance. The myriad expressions, intonations, gestures and movements were perfectly in tune with the character. A diminutive giant of acting received some well earned standing ovations. Will be long remembered and cherished.
