A comedian's quest for truly meaningful art... whatever that means.
Jon Walpole dared to ask if he could surgically alter himself to become a man- sized butterfly. After multiple surgeries, the answer was: no. After being dead for 9 minutes, a miracle saw Jon come back to life. He scrapped the idea and chose to be a metaphorical butterfly instead. This show is about that.
A RAW Comedy State Finalist, Jon Walpole has been performing to sell-out crowds in the Melbourne comedy circuit for the last six years, performing in multiple group and solo shows receiving 4- and 5-star reviews. In 2022, Jon made his touring debut to Sydney Fringe, Melbourne Fringe, Adelaide Fringe and MICF with his concept show: One Man Performing A Two Man Show to rave reviews.
Now, after studying clown at Ecole Philippe Gaulier in France, touring to Edinburgh Fringe, receiving funding from the Adelaide Fringe Fund, and workshopping ideas with award-winning comedian Hannah Camilleri, Jon is returning to the Melbourne Fringe Festival with his latest show – Jon Walpole: Butterfly.
