Gaby Moreno with special guest Queenie
Recent Grammy® Award and Latin Grammy® winner, Gaby Moreno is returning to Australia with a brand new album titled Dusk and a rich swag of much-loved tunes from her seven previous releases.
With a career marked by numerous accolades, including an additional two Grammy® nominations, to see this trailblazer perform is to be awestruck by her breathtaking voice and exquisite guitar flourishes. She glides back and forth easily and exuberantly between bossa nova, jazz, blues and rock, with English and Spanish lyrics that honour her experiences as a Guatemalan immigrant living in the US.
Moreno’s 2023 album, X Mí (Vol. 1) recently won her first Grammy® Award for Best Latin Pop Album. This adds to her many career highlights which include co-writing the theme song for the multi-award-winning TV series Parks and Recreation (NBC) and collaborating with Van Dyke Parks on her 2019 album, ¡Spangled! featuring songs celebrating the migration of music across the Americas. She has performed several times at Lincoln Center in NYC and The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC and shared the stage with luminaries Emmy Lou Harris, Bono, Tracy Chapman, Andrea Bocelli, Ani DiFranco, Hugh Laurie and The Copper Bottom Band, Punch Brothers, Chris Thile, Nickel Creek, Buena Vista Social Club, Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings, Taj Mahal, Jackson Browne, Van Dyke Parks and many more.
Billboard magazine described her performance at the Grammy Awards® Premiere Ceremony as “…nothing short of mesmerising.”
Moreno is the first in her country to be honoured as UNICEF goodwill ambassador in Guatemala.

Gaby Moreno dazzled us with her enchanting performance, weaving a rich tapestry of sounds that spanned a variety of genres including blues, rock, pop, and traditional music. Her voice, both powerful and delicate, effortlessly filled the venue, captivating everyone present. Moreno's ability to sing in multiple languages added a special layer of connection for a diverse audience, making the experience uniquely inclusive and profoundly moving. Accompanied by a talented backing band and the notable guitarist Stan Leman, her show was not just a musical event but a cultural celebration. We were privileged to meet her after the event, where we found her to be the loveliest, most down-to-earth soul. A truly unforgettable night.

What a beautiful event. Gaby's presence was tranquil and relaxing. Singing in multiple languages was special to watch, even if I did not understand what was being sung about.
She has a warm presence and mixing songs in language with her repertoire is special for the community here and for others to appreciate. Greta to see her again.

We absolutely loved Gaby Moreno. She has a wonderful voice and sang across a number of different genres: country, blues, rock, pop and also sang some lovely traditional tunes. The show was extremely entertaining. Her backing band is great, including one of our local very talented guitar players, Stan Leman.
If you get the chance to see Gaby on one of her other shows on this tour, I highly recommend you make the effort to go.

Great venue! Lots of seating, friendly staff and a good vibe. Pretty easy to find parking on Sydney Rd on a Wednesday night. Food available and good bar service. Both Queenie and Gaby Moreno played great sets, filled with chilled tunes, blues, latin soul and funky rock. Definitely worth checking out. Sully
