It’s about time that our great friend MELISSA CARPER made her way to Australia! Save the October date for our ramblin’ pal to experience her deep, old-timey music roots and sublime upright bass rhythms.
Listening to Carper’s music is a nostalgic carpet ride to record collections filled with Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Ray Charles – all the flavours of the past brought together to inspire the modern-day rambler, crooner and songstress that is Melissa Carper.
After years on the road, living out of her family’s 1980 Dodge Maxi Van, Carper busked her way around the US of A, immersing herself in the music of those who sang before her off the beaten path in times gone by.
Last year, Melissa Carper released Ramblin’ Soul to great acclaim. The album, which includes a stunning cover of Brennen Leigh’s Hanging on to You, continues on Carper’s nostalgic journey and her childhood love of the family record collection.
Melissa Carper performs in Australia for the first time this October, playing in her good ol’ fashioned ramblin’ style with fellow first timer touring Texan, schoolteacher turned honky tonk troubadour Summer Dean along with special guests.

This was a very interesting, as wel did not know what to expect. It did not disappoint. A real variety of music.
Melissa Carper was a fantastic! Both opening acts were too notch, maybe I'm old but we got out of there quite late for a school night.
