Jimmy Cullen has a bleak outlook on life and a thing for rope. He returns to his County Cavan hometown with the intention of visiting his dying father before taking his own life but things don’t go to plan. The heavens open, commencing a deluge of biblical proportions that throws everyone’s lives into disarray. Stranded by the unremitting rain, Jimmy must face his past to find the path to his salvation.
Writer / director Philip Doherty’s debut production, Redemption of a Rogue is as black and thorny as a shillelagh but this “love letter to small-town Ireland…is arguably the funniest Irish movie in a generation.” (Irish Examiner)
