Odyssey
Picture a see-saw. Now picture one’s capacity to banter on the left side and one’s charming charisma on the right side. This wholesome equilibrium is Luke Blaze. The young, talented and unassuming illusionist takes over Swanston Street’s intimate Arrow Theatre this winter. The team at the Melbourne Magic Festival are ecstatic to present to you its first ever illusion show, ‘Odyssey’, where your imagination becomes reality. Prepare yourself to be glued to the edge of your seat, as each illusion will mesmerise the depths of your perception of what the human mind can comprehend. The smoke mischievously circles centre stage, the lights dart from one end of the theatre to another and the dancers heighten your anticipation, preparing for the stimulation of all your senses. Solo adventures are fun, but Luke will be breaking the fourth wall to fully immerse you in this odyssey.

A good solid evening of entertainment! Strangely it was my first time seeing a magic show of this nature live! Even though I was familiar with all the illusions and "tricks" I was amazed to see it happen "before my very eyes" very cool! There was only one illusion that was obvious and unconvincing but somehow that just made the others seem more incredible!
The only thing I would have liked to see was a stronger and original narrative, that would take the show to the next level.
Luke gave a polished performance; a showman and magician who entertained and amazed me, making time fly and leaving me wanting more.
Good overall show by Luke Blaze. The tricks were simple but he made up for it with atmosphere. There were a few technical glitches that distracted from the show. Audience interaction was a nice touch but he was a little too indecisive on some of his picks that resulted in him visibly upset a little boy who wasn't chosen in the end. Could've been handled a bit better. Really liked the 3 rings segment and the backstory was heart warming. Good show but needs a bit of polish.
Luke Blaze is extremely talented and funny. This show will entertain and amaze a must see.
