Fireworks, circus, illusions, side-splitting comedy and a killer soundtrack – award-winning Melbourne duo, The Showmen, are bringing their biggest and best show to Gluttony at the Adelaide Fringe Festival for the first time in 2019.
Coming off the back of sold-out seasons at the 2015, 2016 and 2019 Melbourne Magic Festivals and celebrated performances at the Melbourne Fringe and Perth’s Fringe World, The Showmen’s Adelaide debut will feature the same energetic, unforgettable, jaw-dropping feats that have delighted revellers across the country, with a few new, added twists!
A highlight of this year’s Adelaide Fringe Festival program, The Showmen: LIVE! is a high-octane spectacle filled with show- stopping illusions, mind-warping sleight of hand and a death-defying escape. If you see one Fringe show this season, it should be this.
Aged just 21 and 25 respectively, the young men behind the show, Sam Hume and Justin Williams, are seasoned performers in their own right, with an impressive portfolio across Australia and the world. After meeting in 2014, the pair have made a name for themselves with their unique blend of magic, comedy and theatre, and have been compared to Vegas’ most iconic magicians, Penn & Teller.
This dark humour and sunny disposition is evident in the hilarious, high-energy The Showmen: LIVE! No two performances are ever the same, with crowds returning night after night to witness the duo deliver laughs, drama, danger and never-before-seen tricks in this jampacked 60-minute spectacular.
