Imagine the intensity of flamenco, the virtuosity and speed of bluegrass in combination with two of Melbourne's finest jazz musicians and you have Run Caballito.
Flamenco dancer and percussionist Johnny Tedesco and bluegrass fiddle and mandolin champion Luke Moller, are collaborating with guitar wunderkind, Nathan Slater and James Gilligan, filling in for Freedman Fellow, bassist Christopher Hale who is currently playing in New York. The resulting ensemble characterises all that's most exciting about Melbourne music making, artists eager to move across the boundaries of convention to explore each other's genres; players whose musicianship is the avenue to common ground and new Australian music.
