The Curtain by Daniel Keene

Six time Premier's Literary Award winner Daniel Keene returns to fortyfivedownstairs with his new play The Curtain, starring Milijana Čančar, Gil Tucker (Cop Shop) and Paul Weingott.

Written with Keene's characteristically sharp ear for poetry and dialogue, this World premiere production is a funny and fraught autumnal exploration of human foibles and friendships.

Ada Munroe rents her two spare rooms to Leon and Francis, two single, aging men who seem to have come to the end of their road. The small country town where they live is slowly dying; local businesses are closing, familiar faces disappearing. Then one night, something unexpected happens that shifts how Ada sees her life. And now everything must change.
